The DASH family is proud to celebrate Jocelyn Staples, a graduating senior whose quiet strength, dedication, and love for dance have made her a special part of the DASH community.

ocelyn is a senior at Centennial High School in Roswell, Georgia. When she is not focused on school, she enjoys helping other students as a tutor. She also has a deep love for K-pop, and while she may be quiet at first, her personality lights up when she talks about the music and choreography she loves.
At DASH, Jocelyn has had the opportunity to grow in both skill and confidence while doing what she loves most—dance. Through her classes, she has developed not only as a performer, but also in her ability to express herself more freely.
“The dance classes have helped me with my posture, how to keep dancing when I’m on stage, and how to be myself.”— Jocelyn Staples
Jocelyn’s journey at DASH has also been deeply meaningful to her family. Her aunt, Doretha Patterson, who has faithfully supports her participation, shared this reflection:
“At DASH, Jocelyn gets to do what she loves. It’s allowed her to open up and make friends with other young people who love to dance also. When seeing videos of Jocelyn at dance practice or on the stage, her family says she’s in her element, and they are so proud of her.”— Dorita Patterson
Looking ahead, Jocelyn hopes to attend college after high school and pursue a career as an elementary school teacher. Spiritually, her goals are to get baptized and serve as a regular pioneer, and she is especially looking forward to visiting Bethel in Korea this fall.
At DASH Center for the Arts, we are proud of the growth Jocelyn has shown and the quiet joy she brings to the studio. Her journey is a reminder that dance can help young people not only improve their technique, but also grow in confidence, connection, and self-expression.
Congratulations, Jocelyn. Your DASH is just beginning.
