Meet Sharlene Boykin
When Sharlene first came to the DASH Center for the Arts at age nine, she simply loved to move. Today, that love has grown into dedication, confidence, and leadership.
Sharlene is not only a committed dancer, she is also an excellent student, maintaining a 3.8 GPA while balancing school, rehearsals, and performances. As the big sister to two younger siblings who also dance at DASH, she sets an example of hard work and perseverance both in the studio and at home.
After stepping onto the stage for her first performance in Showtime at the DASH Center, something changed. Sharlene returned to class with renewed focus and determination, eager to grow and perform again—stronger, more confident, and more expressive.
Today she is expanding her training by learning tumbling and acrobatics, pushing herself to become a more versatile performer and artist.
Through the Adopt-A-Dancer program, your support helps provide Sharlene with rehearsal time, costumes, and performance opportunities that allow her to continue developing her talents.
But more than that, your gift tells Sharlene that her hard work, discipline, and dreams matter.
